About TrustMark
Trustmark - A domestic accreditation service approved by the Government
TrustMark is a new, award-winning scheme supported by the Government, consumer groups and
building industry to help the consumer find reputable firms to do repair, maintenance and
improvement work inside and outside the home.
How can Trustmark support Local Government initiatives?
Exor see Trustmark as offering a valuable partnership between local government and two key
audiences. Namely the domestic purchaser and local business. We often receive requests
from both parties for support in these key supplier selection decisions and a government
supported scheme is an excellent vehicle for the local authority to promote.
What does the Trustmark badge cover?
Trustmark traders are contractors that have joined the TrustMark scheme which has been set
up to safeguard the interests of the consumer who may be trying to select a quality approved
tradesperson to carry out work in their home. Exor, under the TrustMark umbrella, provides a
list of assessed and approved contractors to work on domestic properties. This means that
domestic purchasers can ‘buy with confidence’ as we can offer a list of companies that have
met the standards of the scheme, and have been checked for the following:
* Technical competence in their particular trade checked by 'on site ' assessments
* That they offer clear details of the work being to be undertaken to include specification, materials to be used, price,
payment method and timescale
* Compliance with the law on health, safety and waste disposal issues
* That the company are financially sound and have adequate public liability insurance
* That the company offer assistance with building control issues
* That they offer the opportunity to purchase of insurance to cover ceasing to trade, defective workmanship. This
insurance is provided, when prepayment forms part of the contract
* A complaints process that is supported by a low cost complaints resolution service in the event of the contractor
being unable to resolve the complaint satisfactorily
